'Parenthood' Recap: Episode 15, 'Politics'

Tajah Ebram

The wait is finally over! Parenthood returns after nearly a month with their 50th episode, "Politics," where viewers watched new flames flicker as old ones died hard.

New flames of course include the one between Amber and politician Bob Little. Amber is given a promotion on the campaign and feels undeserving when an after work kiss forces her to face that Little is looking for more than just a new assistant. Viewers watch Amber struggle with wanting to truly earn her successes but also with the fact that she is falling for the politician.

Another relationship progresses as Jasmine decides she wants to move in with Dr. Joe- and take she and Crosby’s son with her. This sparks some jealousy in ex fiancé, Crosby, who realizes that Dr. Joe is going to get to make a home and family and a life with Jasmine and Jabbar- all of which Crosby did, and still does want.

But it seems at least one Braverman might get to have it all as Sarah and her boyfriend Mark decide they are serious about their relationship and about starting a family. This has been in the works for some time. But it is only after meeting Mark’s younger and more spontaneous friends and ex- girlfriend, that Sarah realizes her biological clock is ticking. It’s now or never to try for that new baby. In the midst of all this, some viewers might wonder if Mark isn’t much more compatible with his younger friends and even ex-girlfriend. Maybe he’s not so ready for a baby as he is to travel the world and live out a few more childhood dreams.

In the meantime, Adam is pushing Crosby to be more of a go-getter as they pursue the band, Dawes, to come record their next album at their studio, The Luncheonette. Adam is looking for their business to really start growing since he has three children at home, one of which, is off to Cornell University in the fall.

Joel and Julia seem to be at standstill with the adoption agreement they have made after Zoe moves out of their house, quits her job, and seems to be changing her mind about the adoption. Joel knows he and Julia cannot suffer another disappointment like this, so he approaches Zoe, who tells him she simply needs space. After the baby comes, she doesn’t want to be so close to their family, to the point where she cannot move on with life and live with her decision.

We see the politics of love, work, and family relationships at work in this episode of parenthood.

Watch next week for when Aunt Kristina finds out that her niece, Amber is interested in Bob Little. Find out if Sarah can get pregnant, and how that will blow over with her son Drew. Keep up with Julia and Joel and the hopeful adoption of a new baby. And see if Jasmine really can move forward with Dr. Joe.
