'Prove It' review

Matthew Dagen

A nice mix of alternative and indie rock, Divided by Friday's EP, Prove It, does just that. An improvement, in my opinion, over their first EP, The Constant, Divided by Friday proves they have the stuff to stick around in the music business.

For anyone who likes Fall Out Boy, you should give Divided by Friday a listen. The lead singers of each band have a similar sound to them, which isn't a bad thing at all.

From the first guitar riff, I was hooked. The title track was the right way to start off the album. As it's only an EP, there are only six songs on the album, but all of them fit very well together.

The first four songs come right after you. They all have more of a rock feel to them, with heavier guitar and drum combos. The fifth track, "Face to Face," slows it down a little bit with more of an acoustic feel to it, but it works well as a nice change of pace. The closing track gets back to the more upbeat rock.

If you're a fan of alternative indie rock or Fall Out Boy or both, Divided by Friday's Prove It is worth a listen.
