Matt Savage is an autistic 14-year-old boy from Boston. He has never had any instruction in composition, he taught himself how to play and up until recently he never had any instruction. The other two musicians in the trio are adults, John Funkhouser and Steve Silverstein. Matt plays the piano, John plays bass and Steve plays the drums. They started performing gigs together five years ago.

I think no collection is complete without this album. The Matt Savage Trio is by far one of the most skilled jazz bands of our time.
