Rambo

Action hero John Rambo is back in the newest addition to the longstanding franchise.

Rambo is the most recent film in the famous action franchise and is set decades after the conclusion of the last film.

While living in Thailand, John Rambo, played by Sylvester Stallone, is approached by a group of missionaries, wanting Rambo to take them upriver into Burma, controlled by an autocratic regime. First, he refuses, but is persuaded by one of the missionaries, Sarah Miller, played by Julie Benz. Later, the government attacks a village, killing all who live there and capturing the missionaries. It is now up to Rambo to save the missionaries from certain doom.

I enjoyed the intense action scenes in this film. Stallone doesn't miss a beat when it comes to the fights. I thought I was looking at a Sylvester Stallone from 20 years ago. It was incredible watching a man who is on the verge of collecting social security in such great shape, running around the Burmese jungle.

I thought one scene, in which Rambo was reflecting on his life, while making a sword and clips of the other "Rambo" films were used, was a bit hokey. It seemed like one of those cheesy montages that they put in bad action films. I thought that this franchise wouldn't have to stoop as low as using that.

I would strongly recommend this film to any fan of action films or any fans of the "Rambo" franchise as this movie does not disappoint.
