Review of Peter Bjorn and John's "May Seem Macabre"

Have you ever listened to a song you couldn’t get enough of?

Indie band Peter Bjorn and John have a song just like that- “May Seem Macabre.” It’s not overdone. It’s not lacking in any dimension I can think of. It is pure indie bliss with a funky twist. And who would’ve known they’re from Sweden?

Every time I listen to the song, I just need more Peter Bjorn and John. “May Seem Macabre” may be the best song on their newest album, Gimme Some, released in 2011. This song is indie at its best. The band needs more attention from the world, and I’m sure we will be seeing it very soon. Everything about this trio screams “next big indie star.”

They are probably most recognizable by their song called “Young Folks.” Unfortunately, the band hasn’t received much more time in the spotlight after the 15 minutes of fame were up for “Young Folks.” I also think their sound is much like the band Foster the People. However, Peter Bjorn and John have a very distinct sound, and they deserve much more positive feedback than just this review. Do yourself a favor, check them out.
