'The Script'
Irish three-piece, The Script, consists of vocalist and key board player, Danny O'Donoghue, with Glen Power and Mark Sheehan providing the music. The talented trio from Dublin burst onto the European market in 2008 with this debut album, and in 2010, they broke into the US market with their song "Breakeven."
The album is a breath of fresh air; an honest, easy-listening record that is almost too good. The songs are all unique - a weird mix of singing, rapping, and so many musical genres, but it works well together.
Highlights from the album include "Breakeven," "Talk You Down," "Before the Worst," and "The Man Who Can't Be Moved." But as I said, each and every track on the CD is excellent.
With their self-titled debut album, this band has undoubtedly cemented their status as the next generation of Irish music. Seeing a fresh act from the Emerald Isle is like a breath of fresh air.
Five out of five - definitely buy it!
