Joe Jonas has made it clear that he’s ready to do things on his own, and the release of his first single “See No More” leads him in the right direction.
“See No More” is off of his solo album Fastlife and is surprisingly nothing like the Jonas Brothers. It’s not cheesy. It’s not a sad excuse for a song. It’s not a teenybopper mess. In fact, it’s actually not that bad.
Co-written by Chris Brown, “See No More” is about life after a break-up, which is something that most, if not all artists, sing about at least once during their careers.
The hook of the song is amazing, and definitely does its job of catching the listeners attention:
“You walked away / from me baby / I would’ve never done the same / you made me feel / like our love was not real / you threw it all away / so I don’t wanna wait for you / I don’t wanna wake up thinking / hoping you’ll get it right this time / cause you know that you’re so cold / and I don’t wanna see no more.”
The only downside to “See No More” is that it sounds too much like “Battlefield” by Jordin Sparks. Although the beat is a little faster and more up beat, it still has the same beating drum sound that was so prominent in “Battlefield.”
Other than that, “See No More” has great potential. It’s a good start for the former Jonas Brothers member and with a little bit of luck, it may even become one of this summer’s newest sensations.
