Served Up Texas Style: The Best of Smokin' Joe Kubek Band is a superb album for any blues and rock fan. With a style like Eric Clapton, it's not surprising that the legendary guitar player encouraged Kubek to form a band. The album features ten years of a variety blues sound. Each track showcases the tremendous guitar skills of Kubek. There's the faster "Can't See For Lookin'," which has a more rock sound. Then there are slower, bluesier tracks like "Player Got Played." On tracks like "Natural Born Lover," Kubek's rough guitar playing meshes well with Bnois King's smooth vocals.
