Seven Pounds
Seven Pounds is an intense drama focusing on a man trying to redeem himself for a terrible mistake he made in his past.
Tim Thomas, played by Will Smith, was involved in a car accident, which killed seven people including his fiancee Sarah Jenson, played by Robinne Lee. He then takes up the life of his younger brother, Ben, played by Michael Ealy, in order to find seven people to help. He seeks them out and tells them he will help only on the condition that they never try and contact him. He withholds from them information which could potentially destroy someone's life, but the question is, who's life?
Smith's acting was superb. He brought the character to life and gave such care to a man who had obviously not taken care of himself. He had wonderful chemistry with the other actors in the film. He seemed to make everyone around him better.
I didn't like the sequencing of the movie. It seemed to jump around way too much and it was hard to decipher exactly where the movie was going. I wasn't sure I understood the film until the last 20 minutes of it.
If you're looking for a great drama with an excellent cast, "Seven Pounds" is a great choice.
