Like all fans of the Adult Swim lineup, I was looking forward to the release of "Space Ghost: Coast to Coast." Volume one of the DVDs offered the earlier episodes when the series was still picking up steam. It was funny, but let's face it, those shows don't hold a candle to the shenanigans seen in the episodes that followed. Thankfully, volume two gives us heaping helping of classic Coast to Coast.
With volume two we see Space Ghost, Zorak and Moltar fully formed. They're more comfortable in their roles and the whole format starts to stray from your typical talk show. The episodes contained therein give us more laughs and more interesting guests. The lineup featured on this 14 episode set includes Joel Hodgson, Jonathan Richman, Metallica, Bill Nye and many more.
The extras are entertaining enough with a raw interview with Matt Groening, as well as a musical performance from Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore. There are also commentaries galore for everyone who wants to get the dirt on what went on behind the scenes of this animated B-list celebrity round-up.
The reviews on the back of the DVD call the show "incomprehensible" and "dumb," and we wouldn't have it any other way. Space Ghost, Space Ghost you're the most, Coast to Coast. Way, way, way.
