Through Playing Me

Nathan Angelo's "Through Playing Me," reminds me a lot of Gavin DeGraw's album "Chariot" with his strong vocals and piano on each song. The alternative rock styling reminds myself of songs you hear at the end of an episode of "Scrubs" or "Grey's Anatomy."

The best song on the album is "Love sucks" which could blow up like Daniel Powter's "Bad Day," because the lyrics speak to so many different people. The song also has upbeat music, which makes it the perfect candidate for constant airplay on the radio.

The opening songs of the album follow the simple lyrical pattern of something bad happening and things eventually getting better. But, as the album goes on the songs slow down and are either about losing love or unrequited love.

The album does a good job of bringing you up before bringing you back down with the slower songs, which I enjoy more than an album that jumps over the map in song selection. "Through Playing Me" is a great album if you are fan of piano playing, singer-songwriters.
