Under the Iron Sea

Lynda Dale MacLean

Keane, one of my favorite bands have a new album "Under the Iron Sea," a steel garden in bloom with edginess, mystique, pain, loss and hopefulness. The dark mind of the lyrical canvas soaked in the soul of water-colored melodies and ethereal vocals, inundates exceptional storytelling and emotion that are highly comparable to the incredible writing style of Coldplay and U2. And with Tom Chaplin, Tim Rice-Oxley and Richard Hughes guiding you into each of the stories, your journey has just begun too.

"Put It Behind You" and "Try Again" are like magnets drawing you into the uniqueness, rawness and detail of the songs. But it's with "Atlantic," "Is It Any Wonder," "Nothing in My Way," "Crystal Ball" and "Frog Prince" that'll set apart Keane as not only a great band, but also a visionary and important band to listen to. Keane have empowering messages that not only deserve to be heard---but captivatingly beautiful to want to hear.

"Under the Iron Sea"---Keane's most intimate, soul-searching, salt on open wounds music for fans to connect with on an entirely different, and most appreciative level.

Keane's "Under the Iron Sea" is a groundbreaking accomplishment.
