Dreaming of a "Celtic Christmas?" Putumayo has just released new music release, Celtic Christmas, just in time for this holiday season.
The new release is a compilation, from various artists, providing both European and American traditional holiday classics and instrumental tracks. The Albion Christmas Band starts the music off, with "Here We Come A-Wassailing," setting the pace for the rest of the festive mood that is to come throughout the rest of the new release. Instrumental tracks, such as Charles T. Cozen's "O Come, O Come Emmanuel," The Gothard Sisters' "Little Drummer Girl," David Huntsinger's "Angels We Have Heard on High," Steve Schuch & The Night Heron Consort's "Joy to the World," Aine Minogue's "Manx Jezebel," and David Arkenstone's "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," provide proper balance to the holiday soundtrack. Druid Stone's ethereal harp based and antiquated French "Noel Nouvelet" and Lasairfhiona Ni Chonaola's Gaelic "Nollaig Bhán" are two songs sung completely in European languages. The Scottish version of holiday favorite "Auld Lang Syne," as performed by Dougie MacLean, is properly employed to close out the album.
The Putumayo label's Celtic Christmas is a welcoming and perfect eclectic fare for this holiday season.
The Putumayo World Music label has become the world’s premier source of cultural music from around the world.
