We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things.

Although singer and song writer Jason Mraz has been on the scene for a while, his greatest commercial success came from his latest album, "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things." The record, released in May 2008, is the third studio album for Mraz.

While Jason Mraz is a great talent, he has unfortunately flown under the radar in the musical world during the last few years. However, since the success of "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things," and his single, "I'm Yours," Mraz has shot from a simple musician playing small concert halls, to guest performer on the "American Idol" finale.

Mraz is known for his positive outlook on life and his desire to constantly better himself. Given that, most of his songs have a positive flow to them. The song "Live High" illustrates this sentiment best with the lyrics encouraging the listener to "live high, live mighty, live righteous." The entire track is an anthem to living the best life you can and enjoying every minute of it.

"Details in the Fabric" is an eerily cathartic song and not as positive as the rest of the tracks on the album. It's almost as if Mraz understands what the listener is dealing with, yet he is right there to provide support. The most haunting line of the song simply says, "If it's a broken heart, than face it." The most "un-Jason Mraz" song on the album is "Love for a Child." The track head on confronts divorce, and the guilt, pain and confusion that is put onto a child of divorce. The words are surprising and heart wrenching, but Mraz definitely gets his point across.

Then there is the fan favorite, "I'm Yours," a song that Mraz began to play at his shows in 2006. "I'm Yours" had a huge following before it even made it to his next record. For Mraz, the song marked his first top 10 single in the US, peaking at number six. "I'm Yours" was number one on the Billboard Hot Adult Top 40 chart for 16 weeks. It tied with Avril Lavigne's "Complicated" as the 6th longest running number one song ever on the chart. Aside from that, the song is melodic and beautiful. It's the kind of song that you recognize distinctly, when it begins to play.

Mraz writes and co-writes each of his songs on the record, which causes the songs to have much more of a connection with it's listener. "We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things" represents the positivity and free thinking style that Jason Mraz possesses as an artist.
