'Where Do We Go' music video

Jay Sean’s “Where Do We Go” might be a typical, standard R&B single, but at least the music video for the song has a fairly creative director.

The best parts of the video are the parts with fade outs. In these scenes, Jay Sean sits in a chair, and the only thing you can see in the shots is him in the chair, surrounded by shadows. Jay then fades in and out of the shadows, reappearing in different areas in time with the special effects. This is a very neat special effect that’s fun to watch, and it highlights his own uncertainty about where his relationship will go.

More standard scenes include a sad, slow Jay Sean doing various activities like songwriting and pool-playing in black-and-white film. They are less interesting, but they suit the mood of the song. The only slightly silly moment is when Jay Sean goes out into the city at night while wearing large sunglasses. But by the standards of pop music video, that’s not very silly at all.
