Wild Thornberry's

Reviewing an animated movie with three little boys, ages 9, 7 and almost 6, is a fun experience. It appealed to them, as it should, but Grandma enjoyed it too.

The movie tells the tale of a very unusual family. The Thornberrys live in Africa with their two daughters and a wild boy they have adopted. The story centers around the adventures of the youngest child, Eliza, who has the power to talk to the animals. It is this power that gets her into trouble.

When Eliza insists on looking for a cheetah cub taken by poachers, her visiting, very eccentric grandmother convinces her parents that this is no way for a young lady to be raised. They send her back to England to a boarding school. Naturally, she runs away and gets back to Africa in time to thwart the poachers in their attempt to kill the elephants for their tusks.

The action could be a little scary for younger viewers, which is why, I am sure, the movie is rated PG. However, my group not only was unafraid, they vocally cheered for our heroine and the animals. This movie is a very enjoyable family viewing experience.
