It seems like everyone from the NBC hit show the The Voice is releasing albums. Javier Colon released his latest single, Dia Frampton just released her new album Red and now Xenia has released her first EP, titled Sing You Home. The album features Xenia's signature vocals that audiences fell in love with during The Voice competition. The album is being released by Universal Records. The following is a track-by-track analysis of the EP.
"Sing You Home": Xenia keeps her lighthearted upbeat style throughout her first single, “Sing You Home.” Xenia has a very similar style to Dia Frampton, but has managed to take her music in a new direction and it seems as though Xenia has grown since her time on the reality show.
"Summer Dress": In "Summer Dress" Xenia sounds very similar to the light hearted musical styling of Colbie Caillat. Xenia doesn't over style her musical talent and just plays her music. The song is simple and upbeat. If Xenia releases this new single closer to summertime, it is very likely to be hit on the radio. The only negative that can be said is "Summer Dress" feels like a song that has been written before.
"Snapshot": "Snapshot" slows down the tempo of the EP and showcases Xenia's more sensitive side. Xenia also pushes her lyrical abilities and vocal range. The EP now and then feels as though Xenia is still growing into her musical style but in time, Xenia will fully come into her own and will only increase her musical style.
"Light Years": "Light Years" has a similar style to "Sing You Home," but the style is perfect for Xenia. More songs like this and Xenia will be staying on the charts for a while. The EP is only a window into what Xenia can do with her musical style and lyrical writing. With time Xenia will only be getting better.
