Stealing Heather put forth an admirable effort with their new record, Your Mistake. The bass and guitar are a breathe of fresh air.
In the first part of the album, the rhythm soothes through with undeniable power. "Your Mistake" is a tranquil song. "Motive" brings that particular vibe as well. The album has incredible depth and great vocals by Joshua Aaron, something that is fresh to the indie scene.
The album gets a bit redundant towards the end, but the more mellow songs are the highlight of the record, including the last track, "We Belong."
Stealing Heather aims to send a message here, bringing back the forgotten era of "when talent wasn't a purchased commodity." This is a step in the right direction for a band that looks to have a promising future.
Not knowing much about them comes to an advantage here, as the album comes as a nice surprise.
