Funniest lunch I ever had!
I was a student at the University of Wisconsin Fox Valley campus in the mid-1970s. It was a small campus then where everyone ate in the same cafeteria, and I had a lot of faculty friends.
One day when I went in for lunch the cafeteria was more crowded than usual, and some of my faculty friends invited me to come sit with them. There was another gentleman at the table. I knew he wasn't on the faculty, but he looked familiar... Before I knew it, we were all sitting there enthralled, neglecting our lunches as Art Buchwald kept us chuckling over his jokes and wry insights. I also attended the lecture he gave later that day, but sitting with him at lunch was the most memorable part of the day -- and the funniest lunch I ever had!
