Weird Al Rebuffs His Fans
In 1996, I saw Weird Al Yankovic play in Madison, Wisconsin. His show featured all of his hits, if you can call them that. In most groups of attendees, you could see who was a fan and who was mindlessly bored, waiting for the show to end.
After the show I waited outside for over an hour to get an autograph. Weird Al promoters sold 8 by 10 photos at his souvenir booth during the show, so I assumed he would be signing things. Instead he tried to just give everyone a handshake, pretty highball antics for such a lower rung of the ladder type of celebrity!
