I saw him on Alcatraz Island in California.
My family and I were in San Francisco, CA for my father's annual U.S. Marine Reunion (World War II). While there, we went to Alcatraz Island. We had NO idea that Clint Eastwood was filming "Escape From Alcatraz," at the time of our visit!
Anyway, he was and, (while touring the prison, etc., we happened to see him on the grounds and got a picture. I remember he was holding the huge pistol he usually carried in such movies. They needed to get on with the filming, but he graciously paused long enough for people (in the tour group) to get a snapshot. He said, "I think I'll just stand here and let them take pictures of me."
