he couldn't believe I didn't know who he was
In 1988 I was working in a video store in my hometown in Georgia when this man came in, wanting to use our bathroom. I informed him that it was for employees only, but he kept persisting. He asked me if I didn't know who he was. I thought to myself "Lord, how drunk was I?" I could not believe I could ever forget this man if I ever knew him.
He has a medium length beard, and his shirt was open to his belly button. He had a lot of gold chains that went down that far too. I prayed that I hadn't done anything with this man when I was at a party one night. I finally asked why he thought I would know him. He asked me who my favorite band was; I told him it was Alabama.
He then asked me if I had ever heard of ZZ Top, and I told him of course I had. That's when he told me who he was. At first I didn't believe him until I looked out and saw the red porsche in front of the store. I was convinced then. The first thing I did was thank God I hadn't done anything with that man, then I showed the proper amount of awe, and he kissed me on the cheek.
I finally let him use our bathroom, and he came out, bought a cassette and went on his way.
