Going up?
After enjoying an Al Martino dinner show in a New York City Americana Hotel, my mother and I were getting into the elevator to go up to our room when Al Martino himself stepped in, followed by several admiring ladies. Playing the elevator man, he asked what floors we were going to. I replied by asking him what floor HE was going to. He laughed and said he should have me writing for him. I always had a special feeling for him and "Blue Spanish Eyes" after that! I was just a teenager back in the 60s, but he made a lasting impression!
