It was the end of a great evening - I was hanging out with a friend who was on the Executive Level at CBS, and we'd gone to Elaine's after hearing Bobby Short at the Carlisle. After a drink, Donna and I bid our farewells and headed to the door behind another party that was also leaving (although they got into a cab). A tall gentleman trailed the group, and held the door out onto the sideway for Donna and me, and then slipped around us and got into the limo.

Donna turned and asked me, "Do you know who that was?"

I hadn't paid much attention, so she explained it was Shirley MacLaine and her brother. She added, "and he cruised you too!"
