Respectful sightings from afar....
I've seen a bunch of famous people (mostly musicians and some actors) through my security job at the University of California. However, I have a personal policy of never speaking (aka bothering) them unless it was necessary. My most exciting sighting was when I got to shake hands with Bill Clinton after one of his talks. However, I feel no need to intrude on their personal lives and behave like a fawning sycophant who just annoys them or strokes their ego. I don't think actors and musicians should have cult of personality just for doing their jobs, selling their own image.
