I was visiting Carmel and was buying a book when behind me appeared Burt Reynolds, who asked me if I liked the author of the book I was buying (Gates of Fire). I said yes and we had a pleasant two-minute conversation. He then went and grabbed another copy of the book from the nearby sales pile, which I presume he bought, since I left.
