A Brush with Harrison Ford
I was very fortunate to be chosen as an extra in the thriller "The Fugitive" starring Harrison Ford. Ultimately, the only exposure I had in the movie was a brief glimpse of my back during the opening sequence. For whatever reason--maybe the black strapless dress that covered my 5'10" frame, the gorgeous updo that a good friend slaved over or the beautiful makeup job that the onset cosmetic artists performed on me, I was asked to be in about every scene in the hotel ballroom. After filming for a couple of hours, I was told that I could take a rest. I sat at an empty table of 10 and watched the action all the while looking for our star. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man approaching my table; but I was too busy peering through the myriad of cable, wires and lighting to really notice him. As the man drew nearer to me, he cleared his throat--I looked up and Harrison Ford flashed me a big grin and continued on his way. All I could do was think and through clenched teeth said to myself, "Oh my gosh Harrison Ford just cleared his throat at me." I hope that makes me a Brush with Harrison Ford.
