Rick in the elevator
I was meeting a friend for a drink at the Holiday Inn before a Rick Springfield concert in Portsmouth, Va., this past summer. I was stannding near the elevator looking for her out the window when I heard "his" voice. I turned around and saw him talking on the phone waiting on the elevator in the lobby. I walked up and said, "Rick." He didn't turn around so I tapped his shoulder and again said, "Rick." He turned around and I nervously said, "hi." He said hi but continued talking on the phone. The elevator door opened and I said to him that I was going to his concert and that I had been a fan for years. He said thanks and see you at the show. I was disappointed, I felt he could have been a little more friendly. Of all times for me to not have my camera!
