Tip Toe thru tulips Alert!
...Back in the days of the show "Laugh in"
(*in the 70's) Tiny Tim was on the show quite a bit, and my friend Judy and I were just kids, maybe around 10-11 years old. We thought he was hilarious! We'd sing that song "Tip toe through the tupips" and crack up just thinking of him. Anyway, years later, I'd moved to Southern California and Judy moved to Dallas, Texas.
In 1983, or maybe '84, Judy came to visit us in Ontario on an "inaugural flight" provided by Delta airlines that Judy worked for. We did the
whole tourist thing, going to Sunset Strip
and "Gramans Chinese Theatre" where, by a
freak chance, "Tiny Tim" was at a table with his manager or agent. His hair was a
real cranberry raven red and it made him all the more hideous! But I'd spotted him before my friend Judy did, as there were a lot of people there that day, including my husband. So, I said to Judy, "Don't look now, but you won't BELIEVE who's here!" She turned around and Tiny Tim and totally fell into a laughing FIT!
When we finally composed ourselves, we went over to his table (where he was signing autographs, having pictures taken, etc.) We had my Husband take pictures of us with Tiny Tim, but I've lost them during a move/in storage.
