I got a hug and a great one-liner from Robin Williams!
Earlier this year, I went to a comedy club in Los Angeles. Toward the end of the evening, to my great surprise, Robin Williams joined the last comedian onstage for about twenty minutes of improv. I enjoyed it tremendously; after all, I had grown up with Mork and Mindy, and my mother had even met him once and said he was a nice guy. After the show, he stuck around for a while, signing autographs and smiling for photos. I screwed up my courage and walked over to him. "Twenty years ago, my mom got to give you a hug," I said, "I think I should get to give you a hug, too." "Of course!" he said, and gave me a squeeze. "Say hi to your mom for me," he added.
