The World According to Garp
My name is Tracy Ann Arthur, and back in May of 1981, my two children and I were able to play background roles in The World According to Garp. My son Shane got a part playing "Baby Jenny, a new born girl. Shane's scene took part in a living room out on Fisher's Island when "Jenny" (Glenn Close) passed away. They had him grieving along with the rest of the family. I have a photo available. Robin had told me that it was his birthday, and he was going to celebrate. We all went out for drinks that night to the "Pequot Inn. We also wanted get to know each other, since my son got to play his daughter. Garp was his first real movie besides the "Mork and Mindy" show. Back then I ended up speaking with John under the tent where we all ate, and I didn't even really know who I was speaking to at that time. He said to my son, "Don't worry, the part shouldn't ruin your manhood," since John too was also playing the part of a girl-- he was actually playing a transvestite, YUCK !!
