I decorated my VW Van
My mom bought this crazy VW van. Yeah, I know it sounds cool, but it was an 84'...way past the cool VW period and in the area of "what the crap kind of van". Anyway, I was bummed about it, until I heard Kid Rock was coming to Savannah.
No one that big ever comes here, so I got my friends together and told them where we were going. They were reluctant until I told them that I would find a way for us to meet Kid Rock. I wasn't sure how I was going to do it just then, but then I heard on the radio that they were having a contest for whoever did the craziest thing to promote Kid Rock/106.9- the radio station. So we got some foam paint stuff, and put an american flag in red, white and blue on the back window and all over the car. Then, since my mom works for a Copier company, I printed out all of these pictures of kid rock from the Internet and put them in funny ways ALL OVER THE VAN.
I could barely see to drive, and we were a sight. We got there and did a little jingle thing, and they were like, okay, you won when you drove up in that thing. So before the concert, we stumbled backstage and met the craziest guy ever. I think he was ready for the after-concert festivities at the time. But, that dumb van became a little closer to my heart.
