My husband and I were sitting in a bar called the Monkey Tavern in Albany, Georgia in 1989. The guy on the opposite side of my husband looked vaguely familiar. He was quiet, but my husband, being a big talker, engaged him in a conversation. Halfway through a sentence, my husband realized who he was talking to, and said "Hey! Aren't you...." Randy Owen put his finger to his lip as if to quiet my husband, and said "I'll buy you a beer if you'll keep this quiet." To which, my husband promptly agreed. It's amazing that there wasn't a swarm of people recognizing him in a decidely country town such as Albany.
