WOW - I met him!
I've loved Aerosmith - and of course Steven Tyler for what seems like forever. Last April I was on my way to see Aerosmith when the phone rang. I had won tickets to the concert earlier in the month from a radio station, and they called to tell me that I was a winner for a Meet & Greet with Cheap Trick (the opening band). I was very excited as I am a fan of Cheap Trick as well, but in my heart of hearts I was praying for a run in with any member of Aerosmith - just to thank them for the music and the good times it's brought me.
Everything that was supposed to be scheduled wasn't. I had to make a call and tell the friend I was meeting that we'd have to meet at our seats, as everything was running late.
As I am finishing the call and rounding a corner I see some commotion. I thought that Cheap Trick had finally arrived. But much to my surprise I see Steven Tyler!
Now - I am a very talkative person and can start and keep up with a conversation with just about anyone. But when I saw Mr. Tyler, I gasped, put my hand over my mouth and leaned against the wall for support.
Long story short...I'm trying here! He was kind and wonderful to all of us in the group. There were about 6 of us. He was especially nicce to me, probably to keep me from crying like a 12-year-old girl!
The group I was with were wonderful and allowed me my moment in the sun, so to speak.
Unfortunately my big mouth failed me and I wasn't able to utter a single word. I was afraid that if I did it would sound like a cat spitting out a furball!
I did get a couple of pictures with him, and if by chance I can meet him again, I will definitely speak out! (Or at the least get an autograph!)
