Santa Fe and Adam Sandler
Santa Fe, New Mexico, is a great vacation spot. I lived in Taos, moved to Moriarty, and took a drive to Santa Fe to see sights, eat at the good spots, and see if there was anything worth seeing. Little did I know that this trip would include a very unexpected, but humorous surprise. I don't know what movies are shot in Santa Fe, but I am told that it is a good spot for film. I hear that Val Kilmer has a house up here, as well as some actors from 'Dance With Wolves.' On this occasion, at a very fancy and expensive restaurant, I decided to eat my lunch. While sitting at a very quiet, sort of secluded spot in the restaurant, I heard a commotion. The more I listened to it though, the more I realized that it had been there the whole time, I just did not notice it. It was the sound that comes from a group of people sitting around telling jokes and laughing hysterically. One voice seemed familiar to me though. Before my meal arrived, I stood from my seat and decided to seek out the sounds and see if I could put a face to the voice. The restauraunt I had chosen happened to be next to a boutique that sold clothes and hats, and other costume necessities for a visiting tourist. I entered the shop and started to walk towards the laughing and rather loud speaker. The face that I put to the voice was that of Adam Sandler's. He was in there being his usual jovial self, getting ready for some scene to a new movie. I had no idea why he would be getting ready in there, of all places, but did not care. I was surprised, and found the entire situation very funny, as is common with Sandler. I got an autograph for one of my avid Sandler fans, and talked for but a moment with him. I then resumed my meal of enchiladas and green chiles.
