Dallas Stars vs. Charlie Brown
My sister and I went to Vail, Colorado in September '03 to attend the Dallas Stars hockey training camp. We were there with 7 other girls who were sharing a condo with us. All of the girls were excited about meeting various players, having stuff autographed, etc. A few of the girls were a little more excited than others, and they would rush back to their seats and show off their latest acquisition. My sister and I were happy to watch the practice, take a few photos, and maybe get an autograph or two on the way out. After a couple of hours of listening to each girl's story about the most recent thing she had gotten a player to sign, I joked to my sister that we were like Charlie Brown in the Halloween special... all the kids got great candy and treats, but poor ol' Chuck only got a rock. We were laughing about it the next time one of our friends came up to the stands, but she didn't think our joke was too funny. During the next break, my sister and I went outside and found a small, flat rock. When we went in for the next session, we snagged Brenden Morrow and asked him to sign the rock. He looked at it and said, "You want me to sign your rock?" We laughed and told him that yes, we wanted him to sign the rock. He laughed, even without having to be told the story and signed it. Our girlfriends still didn't think the story was funny after we had a signed rock. Oh, well...
