Big Macca Attack
I wasn't doing much of anything, just looking around, enjoying free samples of strawberries and grapes, when I heard a distinctive Liverpool accent. I turned and there was Paul McCartney and about five or six people, handlers, body guards, I don't know. In a fake British accent, I exclaimed, "Bloody 'ell! You're 'im, aren't you?" And he sort of smiled and said, "Him who?" I couldn't speak. Absent mindedly, I began eating grapes, trying to buy myself some time until my lips worked again. And that's when the man behind the stand began yelling about eating and not paying. Paul looked up and for some reason he threw a bunch of grapes at the man and in a weird Scottish or English accent he said: "Here, now, what's this then? We got ourselves a pilcher?" Then he smiled and said to bag up a "mess" of grapes and he had one of the other men pay for them and then he handed the grapes to me and walked off. Me, my mouth wasn't working. It was the big Paulie Macca and I was speechless.
