Stevie Wonder
Red Eye Singin'
I am a flight attendant, and I had Stevie Wonder on a red eye from LA to DC once. I watched him play his keyboard (with headphones) composing and swaying for hours until I just couldn't stand it any longer. I'm not usually star struck, but he's a living legend. I went and spoke to him and he said, "You sound like my daughter." I asked him if he meant Aisha, the one he wrote about in "Isn't She Lovely". He said yes and that got a long conversation going about everything from family, to new neo-soul artists we like, to choir, to Divinity school! Then we sang together and Stevie Wonder told me that I have an outstanding voice! It was stunning because I knew he wasn't saying it just to be nice. That's my story!
