Meeting Danny DeVito at the National Association of Broadcasters Convention.
At the National Association of Broadcasters Convention in Las Vegas I was browsinig the exhibition floor with a TV student of mine.
I notice a very small guy with a baseball hat and sunglasses looking at the display we were approaching. I immediately recognized him and told Syeed. He snapped back, "That's not him, he's not THAT small." We walked over and I quietly (not to blow his cover) said something similar to "Hey Danny, I really love your work." He was very genuine and simply said oh, thank you very much, in the same Danny manorisms we've seen on Taxi. I immediately introduced myself and introduced Danny to my student.
Danny said hi to him and that it was nice to meet him. We walked away and Sayeed was a bit stunned, both at our genuine conversation with Danny, as well as his size, as we realized that his stature was probably about the same size as his heart. Thanks Danny, for a great memory.
