I saw Dennis Quaid at the mall.
It was the summer here in Austin when they were shooting the Alamo movie just outside of town. My husband and I decided to trek across town to do a mall visit at one of the bigger malls in the area. As I walked in, I headed over to the mall map. There was another man there, and as I came close, he turned around to leave. I glanced up at him, and ended up doing a double take - I recognized his face. He had long sideburns which confused me for a while (until I learned that he had grown them for the movie). He looked down and saw me looking at him, and gave a cryptic smile and left. Part of me was ecstatic to have a celebrity sighting of Dennis Quaid, but part was unsure if I really had. My husband, who was window shopping, missed it all, but reminded me that the movie was being shot nearby just outside of town, and that he could have been out and about enjoying the town. It was the first (and only, so far) brush with fame I've had with a well-known movie star!
