They really do listen
I went to a Rockin for the Hungry benifit food drive back in 1996 in Ann Arbor, Michigan where Alto Reed from the Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band was appearing and helping out. Alto autographed the Band's most recent record release at the time for me. We chatted for a bit and I asked him a few questions such as, i.e. where was Bob when he spoke in his song "Roll Me Away" about being 12 hours out of Mackinaw City stopped in a bar to have a brew. And also asked him if he knew if Bob was ever gonna do a remake of his very first song called "The Lonely One". He told me he didn't know the answer to either question but he would ask Bob. Of course I thought...yeah right...he will forget all about it. A few months later, I was traveling to Northern Michigan and happened upon a radio station in Saginaw and they said they were going to have an interview with Bob Seger on Sunday. So on Sunday I got my portable tape recorder ready and sat it on the dash board of my car and let it roll. When I went back to listen to the full interview later....much to my surprize.....Bob not only answered the question of where he was on that trip that he spoke of in his song, but he played a good portion of his very first song which was only played once on a local Ann Arbor radio station. I was on cloud nine. Alto really came thru on his word. I appreciated it very much. Since Bob and the Band only release a new CD about every 10 years it's kept me a big fan since then.
