Unusual place to meet a Green Bay Packer
Several years ago, my grandmother was in the hospital and my family and I made frequent visits to see her. Most, of course, were uneventful--the obligatory flowers, balloons, and trips to the cafeteria. However, on one particular afternoon, I decided to take my usual trip down to the vending machines to get a soda so I could sit and complete another crossword puzzle. I pushed the button for the elevators and when the doors slid open, there stood Brett Favre and several other (not as exciting as Brett!) Green Bay Packer players. I got inside with them and bumbled my congratulations at the way they'd played a few days earlier. All were very friendly, and informed me they were visiting a fellow teammate who was a few floors above Grandma. I shook hands with Brett as the doors opened once more, and we went our separate ways; but did I have a story to tell my cheesehead-fanatic family and friends!
