I helped make cue cards for her
Ms Channing lives in Modesto, California(as do I), so its very easy to get a brush with fame sometimes. One day I was at work (I work in a school supply store),and this nice couple came in. I asked if they needed any assistance and Carol (as I later discovered) asked for some white poster board. She has an immediately reconizable voice...so I'm thinking, this is Carol Channing! And of course her husband (they were childhood sweethearts that just re-discovered each other a few years ago) called her by name. I helped them get what they needed, and they worked on them for quite awhile in the store. She sat at my desk while her husband wrote on the cards and cut them out. She had many stories to tell and loves to make people laugh! She wasnt dressed up and her hair was under a turban so I guess thats why I didnt reconize her at first, but she was still very beautiful. She thanked me and said if she ever needed school supplies she would definitely come back in.
