Al Pacino
My husband and I were just getting up to leave the Melrose Diner in South Philly when a gentleman got up at the same time and also started to leave. Our eyes met and he gave me this wonderful smile and said hello. At the time I was blushing like a school girl and it wasn't only till after he left that I started to realize that this smiling charmer had been non-other than Al Pacino. He will never know how much that smile and hello meant to me. My husband of only 2 1/2 years had been cheating on me and treating me badly....eventually abandoning me on my own in the ghetto for 1 1/2 yrs in a city where I was a fairly recent immigrant. My husband died about a year and a half later of pancreatic cancer. So this magic moment at the diner really made me feel special.
