Saw lots of celebs in LA
In 2001, I went with my husband some friends to the General Hospital/Port Charles fan weekend at the Sportsman's Lodge in L.A. It was fantastic and I loved meeting all of my favorite GH and PC actors. The icing on the cake, though, was seeing other celebrities as well. One morning we were eating in the coffee shop and saw Walter Koenig (Chekov on Star Trek), William Cambpell (also from Star Trek), and veteran character actor Chuck McCann, all having breakfast in the same place! Being a long-time Star Trek fan, I was thrilled and went over to say hi.
The other thrill was when we were shopping in the grocery store across the street and saw Bernie Mac! I recognized him from the Kings of Comedy, but you really couldn't miss him because he was wearing a bright yellow suit with matching hat. This was right before his hit TV show, but still some other people recognized him, too. He got into a waiting limo after doing his shopping. I wish I had gone over to him and gotten his autograph or photo, but there wasn't enough time. I was definitely in celebrity heaven from visiting L.A. that weekend!!
