Met him at a convention
I met him for a few minutes at a convention in Seattle, 5 hours each way from my house. I stood in line for an hour and paid $50.00 each for two pictures. He was a very pleasant. He chose to sit because of a knee injury; I looked like an Amazon sitting next to him. We then listened to him speak. And finally we waited about two hours to get our stuff signed. I brought four items, each of which I bought special for the signing and then paid for the autographs. He saw the marble looking plaque and said "rock on". My knees melted. I was so scared that he would be a creep and it would be awful, but he turned out to be really pleasant. It was worth all the money we spent, even though it makes me feel like a loser that I paid for my encounter.
