He waved from his small fixed-wing airplane at reporters (including me) and a few members of the public on the tarmac. He was headed out to observe the baby seals on ice floes in the Gulf of St Lawrence (waterway between PEI, Cape Breton and the Magdalen Islands in Atlantic Canada). This was the day before he was interviewed on Larry King LIVE on the subject of stopping the seal hunt.
