Nipsy Russel

When I was 21 and just moved into Manhattan, I was in the local A&P supermarket, on 9th Ave. and 54th st. As I walked through the store, I stood with my jaw agape, just star struck, when I saw none other that Nipsy Russel himself. He must have noticed my expresion, he got on line behind me, and began to chat with me, saying, "I see you like ice cream." I replied, oh, it's for my boyfriend, and he said, "Aren't you sweet enough for him?"It was very sweet, and I'll never forget meeting him. I heard he died not long ago, I immediatly thought about when we met, over 20 years ago. I grew up watching game shows, and he was a very popular guest, and a real gentleman too !
