Donna Summer

I was a backup singer for Donna Summer.
Last Saturday, June 17, 2006 my husband and I were lucky enough to have front row seats at North Fork Bank (formerly Westbury Music Fair) to see Donna Summer in concert.
After a few songs, Summer began to look for some back-up singers. While everyone was yelling and waving to be chosen, I sat quietly watching and enjoying the show. She then said she wouldn’t pick someone too crazy; she wanted someone "demure".
She came to my section, looked right at me and said "Don’t you want to come up?" I ran up on stage (not bad for a 52 yr old!) and along with two others, sang and danced on the stage with Summer to "On the Radio".
When it was over, (and boy, was I sweating!) she leaned toward me and shook my hand and I gave her a kiss on the cheek and thanked her for this once in a lifetime experience! I even have pictures!
