Barbra Streisand
Had tea with Ms. Streisand when I was about 8 years old.
When I was a little girl we lived with my grandmother in Malibu Canyon. I was about 8 years old at the time. My older brother used to play with her manager's son. I believe at the time, her and her manager were also dating.
I used to tag along after my brother when he went to play with his friend. And, as you can imagine, my brother gave me the slip at Ms. Streisand's house.
I remember her manager coming out and asking me if I wanted to have tea with "Barbie." Well, I thought he was talking about a doll not Ms. Streisand. He led me to the back and we sat and had tea and she was very sweet.
Of course, I had no idea who it was until later when my mom told me. We moved away from there shortly after and I never saw her again. That was 30 years ago. But I will always remember her being so nice to a little girl who just wanted to play with her brother and his friends.
